Educational Insights 'Magic Moves' Review and Giveaway
Magic Moves starts off by saying: "Shake it up, Work it out, Magic Moves is all about MOVIN' LET'S MOVE"
Leap like a Dolphin, Growl like a Tiger, climb like a monkey, Creep like a Cat, Float like a cloud, Hop like a Kangaroo, which was Leah's favorite of the Magic Moves Electronic Wand. These are only small example of the moves that Magic Moves announces. Once she learned she could make it repeat we heard the kangaroo one over and over again. It doesn't get old or nerve racking though as the sounds are fun and uplifting. Some are fast and the lights flash fast, others are slower and in turn the lights flash slower.
The top and the bottom light up on and off which Leah absolutely loved. It has colors such as red, peach, blue, green, pink, lime green, teal, orange and purple. Magic Moves is the perfect size for a child's hand. Leah 2, could handle it well, as could her 6 year old sister. Kayla also had as much fun with it as Leah. While Leah was trying to associate the animal names with the animals and their hops, Kayla was stating this is how they jump, creep, dive etc It only took a quick minute to show Leah and she was star gazed! She wanted to do it herself. Any of you that have had a 2 year old know that independent stage. This is a wonderful learning toy for that stage however, Educational Insights does have it listed as 3+ so please use your judgement as our child may differ from your child.
It was so cute the way Leah tried to hop differently for each of the wide variety of animals. She really got a work out and I think that is fabulous with winter coming because children, as a rule, get less than half of the exercise in the winter months as they do in the summer months. Startling thought, I think.
Educational Insights have many categories of creative and fun learning toys, games and projects. For parents as well as for teachers and their classrooms! I have reviewed the Play Foam and Hot Dots Pen with Flash Cards. Both are great for different reasons. The Play Foam is creative play. The three children came up with so many things to create it was unbelievable! I truly believe in creative toys as it seems there aren't as many opportunities for children to be creative as there once was. The Hot Dots Pen and Flash Cards was a bit different. They helped encourage learning with positive reinforcement when right and gentle redirection if they chose the wrong answer. I can't speak for all children but Kayla tried over and over until she received that Awesome or another positive confirmation!
