As most of you know I have 4 children ranging from 19 to 30. It so happened that I was blessed by all of them being home for the holiday week end. The 1st time in 9 months! As we talked and snacked I brought out a bucket of ice and the 3 TEAS' TEA I had cooling in the fridge along with juice and 1 soda. My oldest guy is tea man but not without sugar and my youngest snatched that soda as fast as only a teen could. No problem of course because I wanted to sound important too, just like my fresh from college son and my "I know what's best for me and my family" daughter. You see I had read up on the NEW packaging design also what it did and didn't have already so I could start the conversation instead of being left in the dust by these 2. I began by telling them how ITO EN has launched a redesign of TEAS' TEA Unsweetened bottle to reduce the carbon footprint and that they had created a lighter weight PET bottle and smaller cap, in fact the lightest bottle of all ready to drink beverages weighing only 18.7 grams as compared to the standard plastic bottle weighing 24 grams. Already my son was asking if I looked this up just for the occasion. Smarty mouth kids anywho and I bet HE doesn't know where 'anywho' came from! Lol

Reducing packaging has always been one of the company’s CSR initiatives and a central goal in saving emissions to reduce it’s environmental impact. By choosing recyclable plastic bottles (PET 1) over glass, the company has been able to ship more tea in individual shipping trucks, saving in fuel expenses and reducing it’s carbon footprint. Pretty cool, right?

The new wrap design fully covers the bottle therefore, minimizing light exposure to reduce oxidation and preserve the antioxidants in the teas (which are great for all of us) and it ensures the freshness and potency of the tea. The imagery on the new designed packaging matches the TEAS' TEA fresh and healthy appeal also wide array of people. ITO EN has been recognized for their Recycling Tea Leaf Program. They have been awarded the Grand Prize by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan and the Environment Minister's Prize for developing eco friendly products out of used tea leaves. Products from vending machines to public benches have been part of the company’s recycling CSR activities.
Of course our TEAS' TEA's were absolutely refreshing and great tasting as was the food and company! This is a review I will look back upon quite fondly and hopefully ITO EN has started something that all others will follow and my grandchildren will be able to pass this holiday down to their grandchildren with pride!

ReplyDeleteI like the idea of recycling used tea leaves. It's hard to image a vending machine or park bench made from used leaves, I'd love to see one.
