Stainless Steel Straws from Eco At Heart Review

We have had the opportunity to facilitate a review for Stainless Steel Straws from EcoAtHeart .

In this review, I'm going to be explaining to you why an alternative to using plastic straws excites me. Of course the number one reason being that our planet needs every safe resource it can get. As do our bodies.

I found myself frequently going through the silverware drawer throwing away an endless supply of plastic straws, and have to purchase more. The biggest issue about the plastic straws were my children would chew them to pieces. I would try to discourage this whenever I could, but they still managed to chew on their fair share. I constantly worried about the chemicals they might be ingesting while doing this. They would also complain when we made smoothies that it was hard to suck up their beverage.

I'm happy to say I will not be ever purchasing plastic straws again, after receiving the stainless steel straws that are reusable from EcoatHeart. The 18/8 Grade stainless steel straws are FDA certified and BPA free. I doubt my children will give chewing on them a try but even if they should try, the steel straws will not bend, change shape, or rust. I no longer have to worry about chemicals. The kids love them despite not being able to chew them to pieces, they say the extra wide straws are great for drinking their smoothies.

Some people have asked me how I know that the straws are clean inside, being most you can pretty much see the inside. Well, first of all these straws were made to be tasteless and odorless. Secondly, they come with their own brush. Their simple to clean and even dishwasher safe.

As I said I would constantly worry about the kids chewing on the plastic straws. A lot of research is always on-going so it is impossible to say for certain fact that any plastic is absolutely safe. With information that has come out about BPA (bisphenol A), it can be quite fearful to think about. Studies have shown that BPA has harmful effects on the endocrine, neurological and sexual reproductive systems, as well as fetal and infant brain development and behavior. I have also read somewhere that using a plastic straw for hot beverages could cause carcinogenic substances to enter the body. There are a lot of people who may say " I been using plastic straws for years, they are fine", but with new information always coming to light-should we, or do we want to chance it anymore?

I have to be thankful for places like EcoatHeart, whose main focus is to provide high quality, reusable stainless steel so we may reduce our "plastic footprint" on our environment. EcoatHeart is a specialist site owned by Natural Revolution Ltd, dedicated to doing everything they can to help us preserve this one planet we were given. Upon visiting their site I was touched by the very first thing I read- "We do not inherit the planet from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children"-Native American Proverb

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. I like the idea of these because you aren't constantly throwing them away.

  2. I think these are an awesome item to have. I do not like the taste of plastic and therefor I do not use straws or drink out of anything plastic. Some people think it is all in my head but try a glass of soda and then try the same soda out of a plastic cup or bottle and you will see the difference.
