Years ago, my Dad burnt the turkey so we went to a buffet for Thanksgiving. It was delicious.
ReplyDeleteI over cooked a turkey one year so when you cut into it, it just fell apart. It was still good enough to eat for our Thanksgiving dinner. But I still get razzed about it from my three brothers.
ReplyDeleteI remember my last dinner with my mother at Ryan's restaurant. She had cancer and we always stopped there to eat after seeing her doctor. She was looking out the window at the children playing at a school beside the restaurant and I remember wondering what she was thinking. She has been gone for 13 years and I still think of that visit when I go there to eat, it's now a sweet memory.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite restaurant is Golden Corral. I just love the family atmosphere and the different choices of meats, fresh veggies and ohhhh so mouth watering desserts!
ReplyDeleteI love taking my older grandsons out to eat, they love being out with just me and they are well behaved and actually are old enough to eat a meal and not whine or squirm
ReplyDeleteWhen I first got married we had family over for Thanksgiving and I bake the turkey and forgot to take out the gizzard and it was baked with the paper still on it. Silly me. My mother-n -law found it first and no one found out about it.
ReplyDeleteFor Thanksgiving we always go to the beach. There is a restaurant there that throws rolls at you. It is my kids FAVORITE place to eat!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memories are goin to my grandparents for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They have since passed, but I have fond memories of going over there eating and playing games. I sure do miss that!
ReplyDeleteWe usually do home cooked meals for the holidays now. However, when I was younger, my own family would do buffets and nice restaurants and i have very found memories of that!
ReplyDeleteOne thanksgiving my mother had been dealing with very serious health problems and was on painkillers for the first time ever and she made a gorgeous meal, but had accidentally mixed up the salt and the sugar in everything! So, we had a great buffet at the last minute instead. :)
ReplyDeletefavorite restaurant memory was when my dad took us all us kids to piazza hut for a birthday present, mind you we were poor growing up and dad hardly went in restaurants ,but he had my sister a birthday party and all family come,it was so special and i seen a side of my dad i never seen before that was over 40 years ago but still makes me smile when i remember what a good dad was

ReplyDeleteWe were eating with my kids at a cafe and an older couple came in and were going over the prices on the menu I was paying for our meal and paid the waiter for theirs as well with extra for dessert . We enjoy giving to help others and it was the best moment in a cafe I had .
ReplyDeleteI used to love going over to a relative's house to spend the whole day there playing with cousins when I was young. The only thing I didn't like was the cleanup afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say when we invited a homeless person to eat with us. We learned so much about him

I remember my mother putting money into the jukebox for me at Pizza Hut when I was a little girl a couple years before she passed away. We had a good time and laughed a lot that day :)
ReplyDeleteGoing out to lunch after every Sunday church service
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up, almost a teenager, my parents would take us out on Halloween Night instead of us going out to Trick-or-Treat. Our neighborhood was not the safest at that point. We went to a pizza place every year, it was somewhat like Chuck E. Cheese with the games but I remember it being much cooler!
ReplyDeleteFavorite restaurant memory would always be eating sushi at the Love Boat restaurant in Oceanside California. It was mine and my husbands first date since he got back from Afghanistan that year.
ReplyDeleteI have nothing for Thankgiving. I really need this, All the food pantries by me already gave away all the Thanksgiving boxes.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memories are all I can remember which are getting fewer as I grow older. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite restaurant memory would be when my kids were little we would always have their birthday party at the restaurant my aunt worked at. We would buy an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen big enough for the entire staff :). We always had such a great time.
ReplyDeleteI always love going to cut down our Christmas tree! Such a fun day!
