My favorite Thanksgiving memory is from my childhood, when my mom would lay out two entire loaves of bread overnight to dry it out for her homemade stuffing recipe. The bread pieces were all over the kitchen counters and table.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory is 2 years ago making thanksgiving dinner with my mom. She wanted to help so badly but she was very ill. I gave her the carrots to peel she could only do 4 she was so weak. But she sat with me and we talked the grandchildren were all playing. That was my mom's last thanksgiving she died on December 16th.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving Memory is of the last family gathering we had. All my Cousins, Aunts and Uncle came, along with all my sisters and brother. It was the biggest turn out we have had since I was a small child. Everyone brought their own traditional dish and we all sat around and traded stories and memories after we ate.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving memory was from when I was a child. I know my great grandmother was there, I remember being glad she was there. She really loved children! I didn't have her around much after that because of illness, so I treasure that memory.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving memory is when I hosted the meal and we had both sides of the family over in our new house. The meal was spectacular. The fireplace was going. Everyone got along well. It was perfect.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving memories are from my childhood, when the whole family (all 30 of us!) would crowed into my grandmother's house in the country. All the cousins would eat and then go out to build snowmen or play football in the corn fields.
ReplyDeleteBack when I was a kid we woud always travel from Illinois to Ohio to visit my Grandma and my Aunt and Uncle. I used to ove to go visit them. My favorite memory as an adult is having my daughter 5 days before Thanksgiving.

DeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving memory is when my uncle Mike came home and surprised us all. He served our county in the Army and it was the greatest memory ever for me and my family.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving memory is when we would all get together my mom, my aunts, and some of my cousins and we would have a feast. We would make tamales, and bunuelos too. My aunts and my mom are no longer with us, but their memories live on.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving memory was the last one where we saw my Grandma. My sisters, mom and I get together every year, from all parts of the country, we have for years. A few years back I left my family in AZ and traveled to Philadelphia as a surprise to my Mom. Even better, we drove to the nursing home in NY and 'kidnapped' my grandma and brought her back with us for an amazing weekend. It was the last time I saw my grandma and the last time the three girls, my mom, and grandma were all together! Great memories!

ReplyDeleteThe year we had a big ice storm and the power went out during the night of the 23. My house had a gas cook range, my parents house had a fireplace. So we bundled up and cooked at my house in a closed off kitchen to stay warm and then transported the food to my mother's where everyone gathered and stayed for a few days until the electric was back on.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving memory is 2011 when we were playing a game of Scattergories and got so into it everyone was laughing and shouting and forgot about the turkey and it nearly caught on fire. It didn't which is good but we still laugh about it.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite thanksgiving memory are of the ones when I was a kid. My aunt and uncle use to host it at their house and we would be their all day for lunch and dinner. Play games with my cousins in their porch and just have fun and enjoy great food. Their downstairs is huge and had lots of room for all of us.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving memory is when our family took a cross country trip to go to our Graandparents house. The ride was long but really a lot of fun. When we got there we got hugs from every single person, and were warm and welcomed. It snows where we live but there wasnt snow there and we all played (cousins ) and everyone took lots of pictures. AND mt Grandmother was the best cook in the world.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving memory goes way back to when I was a kid. My mother would do a big southern style turkey dinner for the whole family. The Thanksgiving parade was always exciting to me. I could be giving my age away now, but back then Santa on a float was always at the end of Thanksgiving parade. It was the first sign of Christmas to a kid! (It's not so much that way anymore)
