Butterball is the only turkey for my family. We've tried other's years ago, but we've always gone back to Butterball. Those other turkey's just weren't as tender and juicy as a Butterball Turkey. My husband loves the left over turkey, he'll get some turkey and dice it up, and in a bowl he puts some dirty rice and some cheese then he adds the turkey, he microwaves it until it's a little hot and it's so good! I LOVE the HOT turkey sandwiches! Turkey, gravy, a little mayo and some pickle. YUM! Oh and we can't forget the chips on the side. If you haven't tried Boulder chips, check these holiday flavored chips, I have to get more! :) I'm getting hungry as I type LOL Come on 22 days! ;)
Welcome to Mom To Grandma's blog! We appreciate your visit. While I agree with Butterball being the perfect turkey, for me it's all about the baked macaroni and cheese, broccoli and yummy stuffing! Oh we can't forget the pumpkin roll. My daughter makes that superb. Wait, I have to add my son's pistachio salad mm that is melt in your mouth delicious! While your here feel free to check out our other giveaways on our Giveaway Page ! There will be more and these will change as we get closer to the holidays! Good Luck All!
Fun Fact: Did you know that Thanksgiving is the only major holiday without an emoji? Emoji's are suppose to spur excitement for the upcoming holiday, so this year, Emoji fans can visit Change.org to sign the petition and do their part to make the Thanksgiving emoji a reality. To help spread the word, the Turkey Talk-Line experts banded together to create a heartfelt appeal for signatures which can be found on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter.
Butterball conducted its first-ever consumer survey this year and found that three in four Thanksgiving preparers agree: Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be perfect! As long as loved ones are together and the turkey is tasty, the festivities around it can be as imperfect as ever. Despite the overall positivity around the holiday, first-time millennial preparers are still feeling the pressure. Eight in 10 first-time cooks worry about cooking the turkey correctly. This number drops among experienced preparers, but still 43% worry about getting it right.

Thanksgiving was always a wonderful family gathering - me, my parents, my aunt, uncle, Grandma, and 2 cousins (plus one cousins wife). All but one cousin have passed away now. The last few years mom and I joined friends, then mom passed last year. Honestly I have no tradition anymore.
ReplyDeleteOur Thanksgiving traditions change as our family changes. This year we decided to not host Thanksgiving dinner since one child moved away, one child can only do it the Sunday before, the other child can only do it the Sunday after, and the final child wants nothing to do with us, and my parents are going away on a cruise. So this year, whatever traditions there might have been just don't seem to matter any more.

ReplyDeleteAbout half of the adults in my family are either retail or restaurant managers and are extremely busy during Thanksgiving. So I cook a large meal and they leave work long enough to come and eat and give a few hugs and then back to work. So our Thanksgiving is pretty rushed but we are still glad to have that short time together.
